Meet Dr. Kristine Marie S. Rioflorido—dentist, artist, former athlete, and co-founder of MINT, a dental group redefining oral healthcare in the Philippines. Known for her vibrant personality and groundbreaking vision, Dr. Rioflorido brings artistry and innovation to modern dentistry.
MINT isn’t just another dental clinic—it’s a movement. Dr. Rioflorido and her co-founders set out to create a patient-centered ecosystem where healthcare shifts from reactive to preventive, blending authenticity with advanced care. “This practice will reconfigure into a new healthcare ecosystem where patients are no longer perceived as recipients of treatments but are themselves co-producers of health services.” she explains, emphasizing the importance of wellness over disease.
But her story doesn’t end in the clinic. Surfing the waves fuels her soul and resilience. “Surfing has also taught me an important life lesson: perseverance.” she shares. “When confronted with a set of massive waves, we have a choice—either give in and let the waves push us back to shore, or paddle through them relentlessly until we overcome it. Life’s challenges come in sets, just like waves, but the calm periods in between give us the chance to regain our strength and push forward.” This mindset has become her cornerstone, pushing her to achieve balance in life and work.
Values like empathy, honesty, humor, and kindness guide her journey. “Each of us experiences life through our own lens, shaped by our senses, temperament, and experiences.” she says. Her approach isn’t just about fixing smiles but building trust and lasting connections - transforming her practice into a space where patients feel understood and cared for.
Despite her busy schedule, Dr. Rioflorido yearns to reconnect with her artistic roots. “
I wish I dedicated more time to being more creative,” she admits. Painting and designing once provided her an outlet for self-expression—a passion she plans to reignite.
This year, she’s mastered juggling business demands while staying hands-on in her practice, but next year, she envisions delegating more effectively to maintain balance. “I’ve learned that overextending myself can lead to burnout,” she says. Instead, she plans to prioritize self-care, foster her team’s growth, and stay ahead in the ever-evolving dental field.
In 10 years, Dr. Rioflorido envisions MINT as a household name, revolutionizing Filipino smiles and livelihoods. Beyond her professional goals, she dreams of traveling, surfing, and embracing a balanced life.
Dr. Rioflorido’s journey is a testament to blending passion, innovation, and heart. Whether she’s crafting a perfect smile, riding waves, or inspiring her team, one thing’s clear: she’s determined to make the world brighter—one smile, and wave at a time.
