The critically acclaimed Filipino adaptation of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," Sintang Dalisay, is entering its final week of performances at the Hyundai Hall, Areté, Ateneo. Audiences have one last opportunity to witness this culturally rich and captivating production before it closes on July 20, 2024.

Since its first run in July 2011 for Tanghalang Ateneo’s 33rd season, "Sintang Dalisay" has mesmerized audiences with its compelling blend of traditional Filipino culture and Shakespeare's timeless narrative. Tanghalang Ateneo’s 46th Season aptly themed "The  Ricardo Abad Season" begins with the story of Rashiddin and Jamila, two lovers from the feuding families of the Mustaphas and Kalimuddins. Set in an imaginary Muslim community, Rashiddin and  Jamila must navigate their love amidst a long-standing conflict between their families.

Director Guelan Luarca shares his excitement about the play's impact: "We wanted to create a production that tells a beautiful love story and celebrates our Filipino heritage. The response from the audience has been overwhelming, and we are thrilled to see how 'Sintang Dalisay' has resonated with so many people."
