Statements like...
“Is butter a carb?”
“You can’t sit with us!”
“It’s so fetch!”

...have stuck with us. Since its release in 2004, the Mark Waters-directed film has earned a place in pop culture, immortalizing Cady (Lindsay Lohan), Regina (Rachel McAdams), Gretchen, (Lacey Chabert), and Karen (Amanda Seyfried) as internet memes. 2018 saw the pop cultural icon turn into a Broadway.

And now, a movie adaptation of that is now in the works. Wait. What? Last October 3 ( Mean Girl’s Day), some of the Mean Girls’ cast reunited to share what they’re up to, as well as behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the movie. The reunion was done to encourage people to vote on November 3.

Of course, screenplay writer Tina Fey (who plays Ms. Norbory, a divorced Math Teacher) was present. She was joined by Amada, Lindsay, and Lacey. Rachel was interviewed separately, and was edited to fit in the video.

Also present were notables Tim Meadows (Mr. Duvall), Ana Gasteyer (Cady’s mom), Lazzy Caplan (Janice Ian), Daniel Franzese (Damian), and Aaron Samuels (Jonathan Bennett).

Katie Couric hosted the reunion and played Regina George’s mom since Amy Poehler was unavailable.

Some highlights of the reunion include Amanda’s recent entry into motherhood as well as the story of how “fetch” came to life. Lindsay also shared how she wanted to play Regina at first, but then found herself being able to relate more towards the character of Cady.
