Christmas in the Philippines is simply the best. It starts as soon as the “ber” months begin and ends after New Year. Streets are filled with Christmas decorations and malls are full of people shopping for gifts. Gatherings and parties are fun as it involves a lot of food – which is a trademark of the Filipino culture. Christmas is surely more fun in the Philippines. But as we celebrate Christmas along with our loved ones we must also remember our fellow Filipinos who are homeless and do not have the luxury to celebrate Christmas the way most of us do.
This holiday season DiscoveryMNL continues to promote their advocacy #FeedTheCityPH. Now on its third year, the #FeedtheCityPH movement continues to create an impact by sharing what they have to these people and hopefully, trigger a movement within the community to do the same. The primary aim of this project is to create a movement and inspire people to give back.
The DiscoverMNL team along with their pool of volunteers and partners have successfully shared packages of basic goods, fresh food and clothing for the past three years. Each year they exceed their goal reaching 100 families across the metro sharing more than material needs but also igniting a spark of hope and love within these busy times.
For this year, DiscoverMNL will continue with their mission to feed the city not just with food, clothing and basic needs, but also with the passion to help connect people of all walks of life.
This December 15, volunteers and the DiscoverMNL team will board their vans with packages for our fellow Filipinos who are in need of our help. They will take these tokens of hope and love to the streets of Manila to the people and families whose stories are yet to be told.
Moreover, people can also help by buying the Rainbow Collective 2019 LGBT planner as its proceeds will be allotted for the advocacy.
This season as we celebrate Christmas with our loved ones, we also remember our fellow Filipinos are in need of our support. Through this project by DiscoverMNL we can ignite their spirits and show them the true meaning of Christmas – a season of joy, love, and giving.
While this project is conducted this Christmas season, it is also important for us to remember our brothers and sisters who are in need regardless what season we are in.
Every season must be as giving and kind as Christmas. Let this project by DisoverMNL be our starting point of our journey in creating connections and relationships built on love towards a better future.
This Christmas let us share love through donating basic necessities such as clothing and basic goods to our less privileged brothers and sisters.

Please look for Security OIC Jojit Nafora and inform them that it’s for #FeedTheCityPH. Cut-off for dropping of donations will be on November 28. These are the items that the team are still collecting: noodles, canned goods, hand towels, large eco bags, re-usable utensils and tumblers.
