Tish Alcantara’s art style is a dynamic blend of influences, shaped by both her personal journey and her diverse interests. Initially inspired by the vibrant world of childhood anime in the early 2000s, her style later evolved as she developed a deep appreciation for Japanese traditional art and design. Today, her work reflects a fusion of these influences, with acrylics, fluid markers, watercolor, and gouache serving as her go-to mediums.
For her, artistic style is never static—it’s an ongoing journey of growth. “You don’t have to stick to one artistic style for the rest of your life to have a sense of identity. Your style can change and should evolve, as you evolve,” she stresses. This fluidity in her art reflects her belief that creativity, like the artist herself, must continue to transform and adapt. It’s this ever-changing nature that keeps her work fresh, inspiring, and deeply personal.
Tish Alcantara’s journey as an artist is a powerful reflection of passion, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to her craft. From her debut at ManilaArt 2019 to the extraordinary success of her first solo exhibition, Wagara, in 2024, Tish has proven that determination can turn vision into reality. Looking back on her solo show, she calls it a “knockout success,” a moment that symbolizes both her artistic growth and personal triumph. Balancing the demands of motherhood with her career, Tish admits she wasn’t sure she could pull it off: “I didn’t think I would manage to pull off a show,” she says. “But I did, and it almost sold out on the first night!
For Tish, success goes beyond accolades—it’s rooted in personal growth and the journey of becoming the best version of herself. “Success is knowing you did your best to become the best you’re capable of achieving,” she reflects, a philosophy shaped by years of perseverance, hard work, and unwavering commitment.
She looks back on the early days of her family life when she and her partner were “flat broke,” yet they made a promise to each other to turn things around. “We just had to stay focused on our goals and nurture our minds with great thoughts to attract great things,” she says.
Tish Alcantara’s story is a powerful reminder that success is not just about the destination, but about growth, and the steady pursuit of what truly matters.
