A mother of a five year old boy, wife of a nephrology nurse in Singapore, and a retired educator after 10 years of teaching in St. John’s Institute, Bacolod… Pamela Roldan embraces new beginnings as a full-time painter.

To find your calling, look back to your hobbies as a child.
“I started painting as a young kid, at the age of 9, I joined a summer workshop on painting and crafts making and from there, my mentor saw that I have a gift for it.”
Roldan shares that she began joining competitions back in school and in her local community. At a young age, she was exposed to arts, crafts, and painting. After 10 years of teaching, during the pandemic, she decided to take a leap of faith and go back to her passion for the arts.
It all started when her friend requested a hand-painted bag. Roldan shares:
“… when a friend asked me to paint on her bag, she eventually liked the outcome and encouraged me to post it online. That then drew a lot of attention, including the interest of some celebrities and famous personalities.”

They say that every painters’ canvas has a journey of its own. For Roldan, her journey was inspired by the shift from teaching to painting. In the past, she drew inspiration towards portraits of women and nature… Now, her journey expands. She allows to take inspiration from her customers’ and select the design they want. An educator understands that each student learns differently. There is no one way to teach students as we all learn in different ways – some students are visual learners, others are auditory, while kinesthetic learners learn by doing.
“I let my clients decide the designs they want and given the most conducive environment, I am able to produce impressive outcomes.”

Roldan shares she is happiest just seeing her clients happy – like a teacher who feels fulfilled just by being able to impact a student’s life in one way or another.
Roldan’s collection includes canvas portraits, images of her client’s pets, as well as images of nature. Living in Negros – being exposed to breeze, trees, and beautiful scenery, Roldan finds herself in a constant flow; painting project that takes 2-3 days. Despite the high volume and demand for orders, she is filled with passion and discipline to manage her time well as a mother, painter, and entrepreneur.

Real stories. Real people.
We believe that life isn’t about a binary of ones and zeros – but about the sum of our hopes and dreams, our struggles and heartaches, our tragedies and triumphs.
The things that unite us are far stronger than the things that divide us.
And those stories are why we are alike.
