As surprising as it may sound (or is it really?), the world’s most expensive resort just opened and it’s in the Philippines.

The Philippines is home to 7,107 islands—an archipelago in a ripe ocean, with a climate that breeds tropical heaven. So it’s no surprise that the owners of Banwa Private Island decided to build the world’s most expensive resort right on our shores.

While the spotlight hasn’t been shy in showcasing the Philippines in the global scale of nature and beach tourism, the resorts present in our country couldn’t keep up with the world-class resorts found in Bali, Phuket, and Maldives, just to name a few.

While we have amazing white sand, clear waters, and teeming wildlife,  only a number of resorts are worthy of mentioning that has done justice to the beauty of the Pearl of the Orient.

Facing a beautiful horizon and exuding the comforts of home, Banwa Private Island is a paradise made of pristine beauty and the finest things in life. Located in Roxas, Palawan, it boasts a view of clear, reflective waters in all shades of blue, and surreal mountainous views. For the curious, you can fly there via seaplane, helicopter, or a private jet. A-listers from around the globe will surely schedule their discreet visits to the most talked about island as of date.

Spending the night in the resort is reportedly tagged at $100,000 per night, which is equivalent to around P5.2 million. The resort can cater up to 48 guests in its beachfront villas, which are available with either one, two, or a four-bedroom suite. The owner’s exclusive residence may also be rented, which houses up to 22 guests. The resort was designed by Manosa & Co. It also includes butler service.

As for the activities, guests can wallow in the unlimited spa sessions, hit either the gym, tennis court, golf course, or pilates studio. Ocean activities include snorkeling, jet skiing, kayaking, sailing, and scuba diving. The resort also comes with its own luxury boats.

Amazingly, our Editor-in-Chief Tim Yap just spent the night there. See  his photos below:

And while we all asked him if the stay there is really worth that much value in experience, he unhesitatingly answered “it’s worth it.”
