Tucked away in our little quarantine nook for almost seven months now with pain and fear of the goings-on outside home is an uphill battle we have to fight with. But as we continue to hope for the better, we try to look forward to what’s waiting for us after this—hopefully a world more imaginative and creative.
While sectors and industries grapple to get through, our local arts and culture sector have suffered the most given how our creative industry continues to be deemed as non-essential. But our local artists, artisans, craftsmen, and creatives have been going above and beyond to give aid to our communities in the most admirable and creative ways.
With that, it is time to reaffirm and reclaim the central role of art in the spiritual patrimony of our nation.
ManilART is back to give us stimulating and invigorating arts to cheer about, come December!
The National Commission for Culture and the Arts annually celebrates Museums and Galleries Month through ManilART, the national art fair. With this year’s rallying theme ‘Vision for a Future Reimagined’, expect that there will be new platforms and measures to venture into and consider: virtual tours, online engagement for promotion and sales, and additional fair days in order to assure the safe and orderly flow of visits.
ManilART will be participated by around 36 selected bonafide galleries in the country for its 12th year. It will also feature living masters of Philippine art alongside up-and-coming artists. ManilART 2020 welcomes art enthusiasts, collectors, students, practitioners, and educators.
Mark your calendar because December has something reviving in store for us. ManilART 2020 will be held on December 9 to 13 at SMX Convention Center Taguig SM Aura Premier, 26th St., corner McKinley Parkway BGC Taguig.
