Well no need to deny that you were not “marked safe” during 11.11. With overflowing discounts and promos, you wouldn’t want to miss the opportunity right? (especially that the Holidays are coming up!)

Filipinos, with phones in their hands, patiently waited for the clock to strike 12 to hit those ‘add to cart’ and “checkout’ buttons.

During the first hour, 1 Million shoppers have already joined the momentous 11.11 sale and 1 Million items have been immediately sold! Towards the end of the day, the members of the Lazada Millionaires Club (these are the sellers who has a sale mark of more than P1 Million), rose to a new total of 1,141 sellers.

“The support of customers to this year’s sale affirm 11.11’s crucial role in driving growth for eCommerce in the country,” said Ray Alimurung, Philippines’ Chief Executive Officer.

Alimurung also added that Lazada is very proud to be the pioneer of the Shopping Festival in Southeast Asia and looks forward to set new records, together with their partner brands and sellers, in the upcoming mega campaigns that they will launch locally in the future.

Speaking of records, according to Lazada, Filipinos shoppers established a new record with 11.11 combined shopping time reaching as high as 205,000,000 minutes (comparable to the time spent watching the entire Harry Potter franchise 187,000 times). This also means that this year’s 11.11 sale, the traffic was 6x higher compared to a regular day.

The new record time is linked with Lazada’s newest offerings on the platform that includes new interactive and live-streaming content such as GUESS IT!, LazGames and recently developed tech innovations that makes online shopping less hassle and more exciting!

“Lazada’s Shoppertainment strategy centers on giving our local consumers more reasons to experience shopping in a new way, browse through our ever-expanding product assortment, and adding items to cart. 11.11 gives us a preview of how the landscape is changing, and Lazada is proud to be redefining retail for Filipino shoppers,” said Chief Marketing Officer Neil Trinidad.

Filipinos proved to be shopping-savvy, collecting up Php 170 Million worth of vouchers for the 24-hour sale run. Huge discounts were used by shoppers on top of the price mark-offs that reached as high as 95%!
