Futile: A poetry dedicated to the Supermoon

Chief of the Night,

I stare at you in envy,

In peaceful Solitude,

Your bewitching Majesty

You beam within,

A silent incandescence,

Of true magnetic Power,

That seeks no Reverence

You’ve kept secrets

lamented at night,

Cries, wishes & dreams,

Of Prayers kept tight

In a monologue, a soliloque

In innocent wonder I ask,

 “surely, surely something this beautiful,

The heavens granted a task”

You see tonight I attempt,

To be smart & poetic,

but I find myself speechless,

With a pinch of moronic.

To write about the Moon,

Is a noble cause,

But Luna seeks no glory,

How dare I want the applause.

On paper I have my scribbles,

Of tonight’s undertaking,

Lost words but nothing lost,

In me there is Awakening.

You see the Moon deserves,

More than my Futile Poetry,

It demands a Surrender –

Of beauty raptured in Ambiguity.

So next time you see the Moon,

Oneself must be empty,

Breathe slowly with Hope,

Allow Its magic – Its Alchemy.
