Dear Universe,
I recently read that the earth is only 4.5 billion years old, and will continue to live for another trillion years. So relatively speaking, the earth is still pretty young, huh?
As a 23 year old, I kind of can relate to that. I’m still young. I’ve been catching myself thinking quite a lot lately. What was, what is, what will be.
The uncertainty used to really scare me. And sometimes it still does, just out of habit. But you’ve taught me quite a lot. Maybe that’s why I’ve been chill for awhile.
You taught me that I must have the courage to pursue being real. That I should let my heart speak and let my soul move me. That’s where my freedom lies, that’s the path I should follow. That heartache is inevitable if you choose to pursue what’s real, let it ache for all the right reasons. So that I may get the chance to bask in the joy of knowing what it truly means to be alive. You taught me that I should at least try.
So here I am, see me stand up, put my arms across my chest and fall into your arms’ embrace.
So yep, thank you for that. Relatively speaking, the time I got here on earth ain’t much in the grander scheme of things, but it is enough for me. Thank you for daring me to try. I know you know me and you know me well, so here I go.
