“Creases” by Meneline Wong Unfolds at Conrad Manila

At Conrad Manila, art continues to unfold as a quiet yet powerful presence.

In collaboration with Art Lounge Manila, the hotel introduces the 40th edition of its Of Art and Wine series with Creases, a new exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Meneline Wong, M.D., now on view at Gallery C. Curated by Nestor Jardin, the collection brings together 20 mixed-media works that reflect on women’s resilience, growh, and the quiet strength shaped through lived experience.

Rooted in both form and meaning, Creases explores the idea that what is often perceived as imperfection can, in fact, hold depth. Through layered textures and expressive compositions, each piece reveals a narrative of endurance, where marks and folds become symbols of strength rather than flaw.

“Conrad Manila, shaped by Hilton’s culture of empowerment and inclusivity, recognizes the remarkable contributions of women across every sector, including the arts,” shares Rupert Hallam. “Through this installation, we invite guests to reflect on the vulnerabilities and nuances that ultimately give women their character and enduring beauty.”

For Wong, the concept is deeply personal.

“If we focus only on the creases, we miss the fullness of the story,” she reflects. “But when we step back, we begin to see that these very marks give the work its character. In the same way, a woman’s beauty is not found in perfection, but in the courage to rise through adversity. The creases do not diminish her. They define her.”

The exhibition opened with an intimate gathering attended by notable figures including Peggy Angeles, Susanne Tiausus, Alyssa Valdez, Hallam, and Wong herself. The moment marked not only the launch of a new collection, but a continued dialogue between art, space, and audience.
