Eighteen solid years of bringing good, old-fashioned pop culture enjoyment to fans all around the world, ToyCon PH is one of the longest-running and premiere pop culture events in Asia. ToyCon PH and Pop Life FanXperience are bringing the Philippines to the forefront of pop culture playgrounds in Southeast Asia this June 28-30 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.

Whether you’re ready to dive into a weekend filled with fun for every fandom, toy, film, comic, or gaming, it’s all here. Walking into the convention center you can already feel the buzz of excitement from every attendee for the event’s grand line-up of guests, booths, and other surprises. That feeling is only intensified as you enter the individual halls that cater to every kind of geek in you.

No matter what fandom or hobby you belong to, you’re sure to have a great time at ToyCon. For avid toy collectors, this event is the holy grail to your quest for exclusive and coveted pieces for your collections. Lego, Funko, Bandai, Good Smile, Hot Toys and XM Studios and over 20 local and international toy designers including the godfather of street art himself, Ron English, all set up shop in the hallowed halls of the first floor.

TV addicts have to keep their eyes out for The Walking Dead’s Michael Cudlitz and Steven Ogg, who will be out and about, getting the full conference experience. They’re are always ready to banter and take pictures with fans. “It’s our first time here and the people have been nice. It’s been a wonderful experience so far,” Michael commented.

There are also a multitude of exhibits featuring your favorite movies and characters for the film buffs out there. Hop into Spider-Man: Far from Home’s gravity defying photo booth or face your fears and take pictures with Pennywise from Stephen King’s It, Annabelle from Annabelle Comes Home, and Chucky from Child’s Play. Yeah, we know—Halloween came early.

For comic geeks, an array of the country’s best comic book artists are gracing the event as well. Such as the creator of the beloved series Pugad Baboy, Pol Medina, Jr.; the legendary artist behind Vampirella, Unstoppable, and The Owl Heubert, Khan Michael; and who is arguably one of the most accomplished Chinese-Filipino comic book artists to date, Steve Gan, who cocreated Ang Panday as well as Marvel’s Star Lord. Many more artists are waiting for you at the con.

Good news for gamers, the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP) will host ToyCon’s Gaming Conference, while the Animation Council of the Philippines will showcase more than 50 short films in the Theater Room. A Mobile Legends gaming Tournament will also be held in Function Room 2.

Other things to look forward to at ToyCon 2019 include this year’s World Cosplay Summit Philippines (WCSPH) National Finals which will be headlined by japanese cosplayer Reika and WCSPH alumni Ming Miho and 2018 Philippine Representative Team Sekai (with Sergio Sta. Ana and Kai Raito as its members).

And lastly, don’t forget to stock up on lots of toys, pop culture memorabilia, apparel, collectibles and more that are available in over 300 merchandise booths set up at the event. Thank God it’s sweldo weekend, huh?
