Great news for camera enthusiasts! Canon is back with two of their latest cameras!
In an exclusive event for members of the press, content creators, and photography enthusiasts, Canon Marketing (Philippines), Inc. (CMPI) formally launched its two new flagship APS-C cameras—the EOS 90D and EOS M6 Mark II. The new EOS 90D offers fast and comfortable shooting with its optical viewfinder, fast and accurate auto-focusing features, and intuitive controls while the latest EOS M6 Mark II delivers superb image quality and high-speed performance in a compact and lightweight body.
“The launch of the EOS 90D and EOS M6 Mark II marks another special milestone for Canon as we strive to further innovate our technology,” shared CMPI Head of Consumer and Imaging division Benny Yu. “Packed in two different bodies that suit diverse types of users, these new models are both capable of capturing stunning images and videos with its enhanced features.”
Canon EOS 90D: Focus x Speed
A successor to the EOS 80D, the EOS 90D is armed with improved ergonomics and operability, an advanced viewfinder, and Canon’s unique high-speed, high-precision Dual Pixel CMOS Auto Focus (AF) technology that enables a range of auto focus capabilities. Equipped with a 32.5-megapixel APS-C sensor, the EOS 90D enables users to capture striking images and videos — particularly of fast-moving subjects — with greater ease. With up to an impressive 5,481 AF positions, ISO sensitivity of up to 51,200, and low intensity limit of up to EV -5, it allows sharp focusing and delivers vivid images even in dark environments.
The EOS 90D also opens up a wide array of shooting opportunities for photographers with its class-leading 10 frames per second still images as well as for videographers with its 4K 30p/25p (cropped or uncropped can be selected) video capability and 120p high frame rate.
“The EOS 90D is ideal for both photographers and video content creators who are looking to upgrade towards professional-level videography,” shared wedding and sports videographer Ian Celis. “My favorite feature is the 120fps function which allows me to create amazing shots. I recommend pairing this with a 50mm lens for taking portrait photos.”
Youtuber Wil Dasovich shared that his first-ever vlogging camera was a 700D when he started in 2015. “From then on I’ve been using Canon cameras because it simply gets the job done. It’s convenient to use, durable and sturdy. That’s important for me because I do crazy stuff. My camera has been in rainstorms and snowstorms, so I know how tough they are. Canon M6 Mark II: Compact x Versatile
The EOS M6 Mark II is the latest addition to the EOS M series of mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras enhanced with continuous shooting speed, ISO speed, and AF capabilities for capturing unexpected moments.
Powered by Canon’s latest DIGIC 8 Image Processor, the camera delivers top-notch DSLR performance in a compact form with a high-resolution 32.5-megapixel CMOS sensor, up to 30 fps continuous shooting in RAW burst mode, and a maximum shutter speed as high as 1/16,000 of a second.
“Light yet powerful, the EOS M6 Mark II brings the controls and functionality of a Canon EOS DSLR into a compact mirrorless camera—perfect for on-the-go creators,” said sports and urban photographer Tristan Tamayo.
The EOS 90D and EOS M6 Mark II both sports Bluetooth Low Energy technology that enables users to stay connected to their smart devices while the built-in Wi-Fi connectivity allows users to upload photos and videos directly to social media platforms.
