It’s a sad day for all kinds of geeks out there—the biggest comicon in the country won’t be continuing its streak. It was announced that pop culture event AsiaPOP Comicon (APCC) will be postponed to next year. The event was initially slated on Aug. 2-4.

APCC organizers said they “did not want to organize the event by diluting the quality of the show, as we are aware the benchmark has been set and APCC fans expect the best from us that we promise to deliver in our next year’s event.”

“Unfortunately, our various content and strategic partners have not been able to commit completely due to their organizational restructuring and multiple conflicting events happening during the couple weeks before and at the same time as the original APCC Manila 2019 dates,” they added.

AsiaPOP quickly grew as the epicenter of pop culture, bringing the hottest Hollywood celebrities and celebrated artists for fans to interact with, among them the cast of Stranger Things, Paul Bettany, Nicholas Hoult, Finn Jones, Tye Sheridan, and Ray Fisher. A profusion of graphic novels, geeky merchandise, and all sorts of collectibles is also found in the comic conference. The 3-day event had also grown to house exclusive Netflix activations and Marvel’s Hall M, a must-see attraction which features Marvel’s newest lineup of unreleased news, clips, and trailers.
