A Closer Look at 6 Creative Brands from Purveyr Fair

Missed the Purveyr Fair? Don’t fret. You may have missed the booths, the crowds, and the inevitable “wait, where did you get that?” moments, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the brands.

First launched in 2016 as a fundraising project for PURVEYR Magazine, Purveyr Fair has grown into a gathering place for Filipino creatives across fashion, art, design, music, food, and more. This year marked its 16th edition and biggest fair yet, bringing together 113 indoor merchants, 24 outdoor merchants, 23 food and beverage stalls, and 18 partners.

For those who were unable to attend, or simply did not have enough time to explore every booth, here are six brands from this year’s fair worth getting to know.

YEN KYLA

Founded and designed by Yen Noche, the emerging Filipino fashion label plays with shape, structure, texture, and clever construction. Its signature puzzlework pieces look conceptual and sculptural, but still have that very important quality of being something you can actually wear outside a fashion editorial.

If your wardrobe is starting to feel like it has seen one too many basic silhouettes, Yen Kyla might be the creative reset you need.

Rags2Riches (R2R)

R2R brings together local craftsmanship and modern design through thoughtfully made clothing and accessories created in collaboration with Filipino artisans.

Among its notable pieces is the 4-Way A-Line Skirt, a high-waisted midi skirt designed with four interchangeable zippered panels, allowing the wearer to alter its appearance and styling. Practicality is also considered, with functional pockets incorporated into the design.

The brand’s Fruit Bags, meanwhile, draw inspiration from familiar Filipino produce including rambutan, pakwan, and pinya, translating everyday references into playful accessories.

R2R demonstrates how traditional craftsmanship can be interpreted through a contemporary lens while retaining a distinctly Filipino character.

PILOSOPO

A bag can serve a practical purpose, but it can also become an important part of an outfit.

Pilosopo approaches the everyday accessory with an emphasis on form, material, and detail. The Filipino brand creates distinctive bags incorporating unconventional elements such as garters, silver rings, bobbin winders, and metal hardware.

These unexpected details give its pieces a sculptural and tactile quality, transforming functional accessories into more expressive objects.

The result is a collection of bags that are designed not merely to complement an outfit, but to contribute to it.

ANABEZA

For Anabeza, minimalism is expressed through structure, proportion, and carefully considered details.

Founded by designer Khirsten Anabeza, the Filipino fashion label is recognized for its deconstructed tailoring, clean lines, geometric elements, and sensual silhouettes.

Its signature underboob tops, including the Koui and Keia styles, have been worn by local celebrities and influencers. Beyond these recognizable designs, Anabeza’s wider collection demonstrates a consistent balance between structure and sensuality.

The Geometric Dress Shirt, for example, reinterprets a familiar wardrobe staple through sharper lines and architectural detailing.

It’s proof that minimalist doesn’t have to mean boring. Sometimes, it just means knowing exactly where to cut.

JOREM

At a time when fashion is increasingly shaped by rapid cycles of production and consumption, Jorem takes a more deliberate approach.

The Manila-based contemporary label operates as a one-man studio, producing locally handmade pieces in limited quantities. Its designs explore avant-garde forms while maintaining a sense of wearability, often pairing minimalist silhouettes with subtle yet unexpected elements.

Think clean, but never plain. Dramatic, but never overdone.

Jorem’s approach is quiet but assured, demonstrating how a strong design perspective can create impact without relying on excess.

LE NGOK

Since its Manila debut in 2023 and subsequent expansion into Shanghai in 2024, Le Ngok has positioned clothing as a medium for experimentation.

Founded by designer Carla Zhang, the label works with unexpected materials, inventive techniques, and considered craftsmanship to create pieces that move beyond conventional interpretations of fashion.

Its designs are expressive without being predictable, with each garment offering its own combination of texture, structure, and visual interest. Rather than prescribing a single way to wear them, Le Ngok leaves room for interpretation, allowing the wearer to shape the final expression.

It is an approach that treats fashion not simply as clothing, but as a form of creative exploration.

A Closer Look at Filipino Creativity

That is ultimately what makes Purveyr Fair significant.

You don’t just walk into a room full of things to buy. You get a little peek into what Filipino creatives are making, experimenting with, and obsessing over right now.

This year’s edition reflected the breadth of that community, from experimental fashion and contemporary accessories to craftsmanship rooted in local traditions.

If you missed the fair, there is still an opportunity to explore the brands that took part. Their collections and creative work continue beyond the event, offering a closer look at the ideas, techniques, and perspectives shaping Filipino design today.
